Our method: how we check every figure

In short

Every figure on SteakEU comes from the stake.eu terms, its help centre, an official page or a dated confirmation from Stake. It is shown with its source and checked date, and checked again at least every 30 days.

Where our figures come from

SteakEU uses four kinds of source, in this order of preference:

  1. The stake.eu terms, cited with the section number.
  2. The official stake.eu help centre, cited with the article.
  3. Official stake.eu pages, such as the VIP Club or the promotions page.
  4. A written confirmation from Stake, published with the note “confirmed by stake.eu on” and the date, and only if Stake does not object.

Other websites are used as leads, never as sources. A figure seen elsewhere is not published on SteakEU until we have found it in one of the four sources above. This matters because third-party pages are often wrong.

A concrete example: the operator of stake.eu is Sweepstakes Services Limited (IBC 18110, Antigua and Barbuda) (Terms 1), as stated in section 1 of the terms. Some sites name the company that runs stake.com instead, which is a different business with different rules. SteakEU always names the operator given in the stake.eu terms.

The four states of a figure

Every figure in the SteakEU fact base has one of four states, and the state decides whether and how it appears on a page.

State What it means Published?
Verified Read in an official stake.eu source, with section and date Yes
Confirmed by Stake Given by Stake in writing, no public page yet Only with Stake’s agreement, with the date
Unconfirmed Seen only on a third-party site Never
Not specified The rule exists, but the source gives no value Yes, as “not specified”

The last state is common in the stake.eu terms. For example, for redeeming Stake Cash, a minimum is foreseen but not specified in the terms (Terms 13.3). SteakEU writes exactly that rather than quoting a number from a forum or a competitor. When the value is published officially, the state changes to verified and every page shows it.

The state of a figure is never upgraded without a new source. A figure does not become verified because several sites repeat it.

How a figure appears on the page

Each figure is entered once in the SteakEU fact base, with its value, its source, the section or article and the date it was checked. Every page, in every language, displays the figure from that single entry. A change or correction therefore applies everywhere at once.

Next to each figure there is a link to its source, so you can read the clause yourself. Where the source is a confirmation from Stake without a public page, the note “confirmed by stake.eu” and the date appear instead of a link. At the top of most guides, the “Checked” date shows the most recent check of the figures used on that page.

An example of how this looks: 3× playthrough on all Stake Cash, except Stake Cash won in promotional play (Terms 13.1 c).

Figures are never typed by hand into a text. A page that tried to show a figure outside the fact base would fail our automatic checks and would not be published.

The 30-day rule

Every figure on SteakEU is checked again at the latest 30 days after its last check. The fact base records the date of every check, so the figures that pass that limit can be listed and checked again before they stay on the site unchecked.

The month shown in the title of bonus and promotion pages only moves forward if the figures on that page have been checked within the last 30 days. Otherwise the title keeps the month of the last check.

When a figure can no longer be confirmed in an official source, it is removed from the pages or goes back to the state “not specified”.

The stake.eu terms are also read again whenever we spot a change, and any change of substance is recorded in the site’s log. SteakEU does not promise to check more often than it actually does: 30 days is the commitment.

What we do not do

SteakEU follows a few fixed rules on what it will not publish, whatever the topic.

  • No estimates and no rounding. A figure is shown as the source gives it, or not at all.
  • No figures from stake.com or stake.us. Those are different sites with different rules, and their numbers never stand in for stake.eu.
  • No predictions and no winning strategies, and no ranking of the biggest wins.
  • No claim that we tested something unless we did. Screenshots, when they are used, carry the date they were taken and show no personal data.
  • No opening date for a country unless Stake has announced it publicly.

These rules apply to every page, including those that carry affiliate links. The commission SteakEU receives from Stake does not change them, as the page on how SteakEU earns explains in detail.

Report a mistake

If you think a figure or a sentence on SteakEU is wrong, write to contact@stakequebec.com. To help us check it quickly, please send:

  • the address of the page;
  • the figure or sentence concerned;
  • the source that contradicts it, ideally a link to the stake.eu terms, the help centre or an official stake.eu page.

What happens next: we read the source again. If the mistake is confirmed, the figure is corrected in the fact base, which updates every page and every language at once, and the correction is added to the correction log at the bottom of this page. If the source does not confirm the report, the page stays as it is.

Only corrections of substance enter the log: a figure, a rule or a fact. Changes of wording or layout do not.

How the texts are written

Our texts are drafted with the help of AI tools, from our base of checked facts. A person reads and approves every text before it goes live.

The AI tools work from a brief for each page and from the fact base described above. They do not choose figures: every amount, limit and rule on a page is pulled from the fact base with its source, and automatic checks stop any page that contains a figure typed outside it, a forbidden promise or a link to stake.com.

The human review checks that each page is accurate, clear and fair to the reader, and that it says nothing the sources do not support. German pages are written in German from the start, not translated from English.

The author page explains who writes and checks the guides. The about page describes what SteakEU covers and what it never does.

Questions

Why do some figures say "not specified"?

Because the stake.eu terms sometimes set a rule without giving its value. A minimum may be foreseen, for example, without a number attached. SteakEU does not fill that gap with a figure from another site or a guess. The page says the value is not specified and is updated as soon as an official source gives it.

How often do you check the terms?

Every figure on SteakEU is checked again at the latest 30 days after its last check, and the terms are read again whenever we spot a change. A figure that can no longer be confirmed in an official source is removed or marked as not specified. The date shown next to each figure tells you when it was last checked.

What does "confirmed by stake.eu" mean?

It marks information that Stake gave us directly and that has no public official page yet. SteakEU publishes it only with the date of the confirmation and only if Stake does not object. If Stake later objects, or an official page says something different, the information is removed or corrected on every page.

I found a mistake. What should I do?

Send us the address of the page, the figure or sentence you think is wrong and the source that contradicts it, ideally a link to the stake.eu terms or help centre. You can write to the address in the report a mistake section of this page. We read the source again, and if the mistake is confirmed we correct it everywhere and log it.

Does Stake pay for good reviews?

No. The commission SteakEU receives depends on sign-ups through its links on country pages, not on what the guides say. Limits and contradictions in the terms are written as clearly as the advantages, and every figure links to its official source.
