SteakEU does not ask you to create an account, does not sell any data and uses no advertising pixels. This page explains, section by section, what the site processes when you visit it, why, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, which provides the hosting, the content delivery network and the edge functions of the site. When you open a page, the hosting provider’s servers process technical data needed to deliver it: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the address of the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system.
This data is used to deliver the pages, to keep the site secure and to detect abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The hosting provider is based in the United States, so this data may be processed outside the European Union. The retention period of the server logs, the data processing agreement with the hosting provider and the legal basis for transfers to the United States are being confirmed from the provider’s official documentation, and will be stated in this section once confirmed.
Country banner
When you open the home page (/), an edge function reads the country that the hosting provider derives from your IP address. SteakEU uses it only to show a banner in your language that points to your country’s guide. You are never redirected automatically on the basis of your IP address.
To avoid reading the country again on every visit, the edge function stores the two-letter country code in a cookie called steakeu_geo. This cookie contains nothing but the country code and is deleted when you close your browser. Your IP address itself is not stored by SteakEU.
This cookie is currently set without asking first. Whether it requires your consent is being reviewed. If it does, the banner will either be calculated on each request without any cookie, or the cookie will only be set after consent, and this section will be updated before the change goes live.
Cookies and local storage
SteakEU uses the following cookies and browser storage. Apart from steakeu_geo (see above) and the record of your consent choice, nothing is stored on your device unless you consent or use a tool.

The tools run entirely in your browser. The values you enter are never sent to SteakEU or anyone else.
Storing and reading information on your device is also governed by § 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) and equivalent rules in other EU countries. Refusing in the consent banner is as simple as accepting, and refusing removes the steakeu_country cookie. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or by deleting the cookies for this site in your browser. Withdrawing consent also removes the Google Analytics cookies.
Analytics
SteakEU measures visits in three ways. Two work without cookies and always run; the third only runs with your consent.

Plausible and Vercel Web Analytics count page views, where visits come from (such as a search engine or referring site), device type, country and clicks on buttons such as the redirect to stake.eu. To do so they derive a daily-changing, non-reversible hash from the IP address and browser identifier, and store neither the IP address nor a profile. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in minimal audience measurement (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Clicks on /go/ are reported to Plausible directly by our server; the IP address and browser identifier are only passed on to compute that hash.
Google Analytics 4 only loads after you click “Accept” in the banner (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Before that, SteakEU requests no script from Google. Google then processes usage data such as pages viewed, clicks and truncated IP addresses; a transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible and relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw consent at any time through “Cookie settings”.
Affiliate redirect
On country pages where stake.eu is open, affiliate buttons pass through a redirect on our own domain under /go/. The English pages carry no affiliate buttons. When you click such a button, the redirect sends you to the affiliate link supplied by Stake and records one line in the hosting logs: the country, the position of the button, the path of the page you came from, and the time. SteakEU records no IP address and no browser details in this line, and builds no profile of you.
For a country where stake.eu is not open, the redirect never sends you to stake.eu: it sends you back to the guide for that country.
Once you arrive on stake.eu, stake.eu processes your data under its own privacy policy, published on stake.eu. The how SteakEU earns page explains the affiliate programme.
Telegram, videos and external links
Links to Telegram or other external sites are plain links. No widget or player from these services is embedded in the pages, so no data is sent to them until you click. Once you follow a link, the operator of that site processes your data under its own policy.
The site does not embed any video player at present. If videos are added, this section will be updated before they go live.

Fonts and scripts
The fonts used on SteakEU are hosted on our own domain. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service when you visit the site. SteakEU loads no blocking third-party scripts and no advertising pixels.
Contact by e-mail
If you write to us by e-mail, for example to report a mistake on a page, we use your e-mail address and the content of your message only to answer you and to handle your request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message relates to a contract.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Article 15);
- have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16);
- have your data erased (Article 17);
- restrict processing (Article 18);
- receive your data in a portable format (Article 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21);
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing before the withdrawal (Article 7(3)).
To exercise these rights, write to contact@stakequebec.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work (Article 77).
Minors
SteakEU is for adults (18+). The site does not knowingly collect any data from minors.
No automated decisions
SteakEU makes no automated individual decisions and does no profiling.
Changes
The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Before any new processing of personal data goes live on SteakEU, such as a new tool, a contact form or an analytics tool, this page is updated first.
